This is an original recipe, so taste at your own risk! It was well received by my kids, but gourmets, they are not. It is really simple, though and I think you can handle it!
Ingredients
- 1 lb raw shrimp, peel and deveined (tail off preferred)
- 1/2 medium yellow onion, chopped
- 16 oz pasta (I use a farfalle/penne mix
- Olive oil
- Garlic, minced
- cayenne pepper
- red pepper flakes
- basil
- oregano
- garlic salt
Directions
- Cook pasta according to package directions, drain and set aside
- Meanwhile heat 2 tbs olive oil in large skillet or wok pan over medium heat
- Brown onion and 2 heapings tbs garlic in olive oil
- Add shrimp, sprinkle with cayenne pepper and cook until pink
- Drain shrimp, onion and garlic in tight sieve and return to wok
- Coat cooked pasta with olive oil, sprinkle 4-5 shakes of red pepper flakes and return to wok, tossing with shrimp for 30-45 seconds over heat
- Add basil and oregano to taste and top with 2 shakes of garlic salt
Serve with freshly grated parmesan cheese!
